Student Beans(opens new window), the online platform providing success for businesses with Generation Z, has partnered with Multiverse to launch a software engineering apprenticeship programme.

Multiverse,a startup tech company which provides high-quality apprenticeship programmes that combine work, training and community, will work with Student Beans to grow its software engineering team by a-third with its first-ever cohort of 16 apprentices.

The programme will recruit undiscovered talent without university degrees, enabling them to secure their first job in tech.

Jenny Crawford, Chief People Officer at Student Beans commented: “Here at Student Beans, our purpose is to empower students to thrive. Our new apprenticeship programme is a great opportunity to bring innovative, tech-savvy people into our business, enabling us to invest in their learning and development by facilitating their first step into the industry.

“By taking on this cohort of software engineering apprentices, we hope to create a long legacy of talent that will also represent our commitment to diversity and equal opportunities.”

Over the 18-month programme, Student Beans will provide one existing engineer to two apprentices, offering mentoring and guidance through both soft and technical skills.

As well as their Level 4 Qualification in Software Engineering, they will also receive Microsoft accredited certification. Training will be delivered through a Multiverse bootcamp and Student Beans’ own specific training.

Student Beans’ apprentices will further benefit from one-to-one coaching with industry experts and will be supported by a thriving community with events, socials and mentoring, supplied through Multiverse.

Jeremy Duggan, President at Multiverse, added: "Student Beans is driven by empowering young people to thrive - and this latest investment into apprenticeships proves that. Their engineering team will grow by a-third - one of the largest commitments to the programme we've seen from any of our partners.

"Apprenticeships are the best way to attract talented people from diverse backgrounds. Across every community, young people see them as a brilliant way to get trained, paid and launch a career."

The new partnership perfectly complements Student Beans’ recently launched social impact programme, which aims to level the unbalanced playing field by fostering an open and inclusive culture that drives equity and opportunity.
